On Good Friday, Jesus told the Good Thief crucified alongside him that today you will be with me in paradise," according to Luke's Gospel. That's the only clue we have as to what Jesus was doing between death and resurrection, John Piper, a prominent evangelical author and pastor from Minnesota, has said. "I don't think the thief went to hell and that hell is called paradise."

The incarcerated souls, Peter adds, were those who were "disobedient" during the making the ark times.
Permalink Reply by Ross on April 10, 2012 at 11:04am Jesus said he was going to Paradise can also refer to Abraham's Bosom, a chamber deep within the earth or some place of comfort and safety where Abraham, David, and all the righteous souls were kept until Christ came to win over death. If so, then He very well may have meant that the criminal would be in Paradise with Him, and that would answer where Christ was between death and resurrection.
